I read a lot about "shorters" on HC spokem about as if they are only shorting because they think the stock will be going down. A lot of people short stocks who are also long and it's just a way to minimise downside risk. I believe most people shorting also hold more shares long so they ultimately believe the stock will rise. I don't think it's a one-way street "Us vs. Them" like so many people on HC write.
