I think your analysis is correct apart from the implication that the bulls are failing and that the resistance is "real". I don't think the supply is from "real" sellers but simply from shorts that went long at the very low prices taking profits and more shorting to keep it range bound for so long that bulls get bored and move on, allowing a trickle of covering at low prices every day.
Shorting is entirely artificial price manipulation so when 20% of a stock is shorted, you know that the price is going to be pretty controlled and artificial.
They will lose control of the narrative and the register at some point and it will happen really fast when it does happen. I plan to still be around.
