I agree with your comments.
They are a leading in the BNPL space and absolutely should do more if they want to expand.
We all know Larry D had ambitions to see Zip as a competitor to the Big Four (although I did hear recently that he sold $100m of shares, should we be worried? ), but that would be a gradual process, so many steps to get there. Expanding more into personal lending is just one of those steps.
