I don't have a stop loss for my MT-LT trades as each stock is different.
I trade based on my confidence in the stock. I will sell once I have lost said confidence. SP plays a factor but a small one. This may mean the SP could be lower/substantially lower by the time I decide to sell but that would be on me. My approach has worked out for me so far. If I had a particular stop loss set, I would've lost a house deposit on MOD early April. Look at it now.
I agree this is risky which is why I said everyone will be different.
