OK, I have updated the chart (data through to last Thurs) with more info added. sorry the chart is getting a little busy. I plan to zoom in to key events for more detail i.e. company announcements, media reports, periods of interesting SP action, interesting broker data.
I discovered today that Australian Investment Exchange (AusInv on chart) is wholly owned by Commonwealth Bank.
The ComSec net buying has eased in the last week, further SP weakness to be expected if this continues.
Part of my theory here is that the ComSec net buying represents a single large holder. It requires approximately 16.75M shares to cross the substantial holder threshold. The ComSec buying over the period of my chart slightly exceeds this, 17.1M on 5th December. But there is probably retail account holdings within this number, so a large position could still be under the substantial holder threshold.
So where to next...? Time to check that Top 20 holders list as of the 16th December which has just arrived in my inbox.
