Underwriters are in the business of underwriting lol
To commit to this underwriting deal and be left with only 14% take up be shareholders 86% to underwriters, they would need to have been confident of liquidity and ability to find buyers. The volume going through speaks for itself. Underwriters will not take on a prop position using the firms balance sheet on what is a speculative stock so their is no mystery or negative connotation to be taken from the fact that they have done their job, raised the money and are now reducing their exposure. We are the ones punting on the upside, they are in the business of collecting fees. If you look st what the shortfall was versus volume traded, I think you will find the sell side will start to diminish over the next few days. I also think when the market sees which private equity/ funds are subscribing for $230m of stock their will be a big confidence boost . IMO
