The type of broker gives insight into if it's institutional investors eg: Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch etc. or retail investors eg: CMC Markets, Commsec.
The idea is that institutional investors are more "sophisticated" than retail investors and have better insights into the markets, and have greater ability to manipulate the stock.
In reality, who knows..... lol
