after I read from FF these days that two major German institutions hold in BRN, I did some research. So I looked on 61financial which are the biggest institutional holders (Dec 31, 2021). And there I found 'Frankfurter Vermögen AG (also GmbH)' whose broker is obviously BNP according to the broker data:
While exploring 'Frankfurter Vermögen' (
https://www.frankfurter-vermoegen.com) I found a research paper that talks about 'emerging key technologies of the digital future'.It says quite a bit about the state of research, why neuromorphic chips are absolutely needed in the future, and among other things the following paragraph:
'For IBM and Intel, neuromorphic chip development is still a niche business, but there is a small company in Australia that has developed an interesting alternative to IBM and Intel chips. This is the publicly traded company Brainchip. With a low market capitalization of about 25 million euros, the share is not suitable for inclusion in the investment universe, or at best as a speculative admixture.'
Unfortunately, the report is not dated, but I guess it must have been written in 2019/2020, but it is very interesting to note that with three equity funds, BRN makes up the largest position (Jan 21, 2022):
I also found other investor presentations from found from 'Frankfurter Vermögen' describing BRN as a future company. Here is an excerpt where it says that Synopsys designs highly complex chips, which from my point of view does not exclude that they could license BRN's IP to be competitive in the chip market:
I´m excited about the upcoming 13F fillings to be released in the US (OTCQX:BRCHF + BCHPY) on 02/14/2022. Perhaps there it will be revealed what other institutions have bought into on OTC. I have no idea how and when such reports have to be published on the ASX. Maybe someone can help.
I never had any doubts about BRN, but having a domiciled institution on my side sounds good and I feel even better having bought more yesterday.As an investor from Germany, I would also like to contribute to your outstanding research work.
