My take on shorts at the moment. I only started analysing on 21st June as I figured they would start showing an increased level of interest in the stock.
Note the huge numbers of daily gross short sales between 22nd June and 1st July and these numbers are sometimes greater than the total aggregate shorts. To my reasoning this can only be achieved by selling a borrowed share and buying it back multiple times in a day. I cover about 8 stocks and I have never seen this before.
I tried to email ASIC but could not locate an email and it appears you have to be registered to submit to their portal. I might give the ASX a try and see what they say.
