Stocks swung wildly Wednesday as jittery investors vacillated between hailing joint action by the world's central banks and wondering whether it would actually work to stem the global financial crisis.

· The Dow Jones Industrial Average has swung in a 433-point range Wednesday, alternately posting big gains and losses.

· Volatility has reigned all day despite what is traditionally one of the most powerful boosters for the stock market: a round of cuts in official rates to lower borrowing costs throughout the global economy and spur growth.

· But even if a full-blown global crisis can be averted, Wall Street veterans say investors should brace for more bad news to come in the months ahead, including a worldwide recession and tumbling corporate profits. If stocks are to enjoy a renewed rally, it will have to be in anticipation of better times to come, not evidence that prosperity has arrived.

Me thinks there is more to come. As in the words of a blonde NZ Bimbo (Model) "It won't heppen overnight, but it will heppen"
