Look I agree it's just that every restructuring in any company I've worked for has been a complete dog's breakfast because the talented people are the first to leave while the dead-wood hangs in there.
Generally the hatchet man they bring in won't understand the business and will do great damage.
If you are actually a talented stock picker you can make a lot working for yourself, in practice more than anyone could pay you.
If any restructuring could be done well then sure. The company has existed in a benign environment for a long time, in that environment the Liz's of this world tend to proliferate.
