Sure well we need to head to the top left again. However to do that we need to break the downtrend, so breaking the trend is a bullish sign. To break on volume shows conviction and a change in investor/trader behaviour.
From a very simplistic view, If you think fundamental investors/traders are buying EMS/SUD on the view that one day the various projects can make money, then this is merely reflected in the lines you see... if the chart is going up it shows fundamentally traders feel the prospect of getting a sale away or making money is increasing ...the technical guys are merely looking at what fundamental guys are saying..effectvly a chart details supply/demand.
A break in the trend highlights to me a change in behaviour, so we may see better days ahead. however good vol on the up days is even bett
