This will be my only post - if you wish to discuss off-line try [email protected]. Marra Mamba contains varying quanitites of BIF (Banded Iron) - check the geological reports for this. Surface mining only good for rocks with unconfined compressive strengths <150-200 MPa. BIF can and does >300 MPa. If the surface miners hit this - even assuming orebodies are perfectly flat(!), then I suspect high wear rates will affect the operation. If you know any ore properties (Abrasion Index) this will be the clue. If they are quiet on the trials - press harder.
