Hanrahan, my political views relate to values and to issues. ie. NOT placement on the left-right political spectrum.
I hold dear those values which collectively define us as Australians; more than anything else they determine positions I take on issues including taxation, welfare and metadata spying on private citizens.
Further; on other threads about the political spectrum on this forum, I have never claimed to be anything other than marginally left of centre and marginally libertarian [my political idols are Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Ghandi].
You only confuse yourself by trying to associate someone like me with certain views on an issue based on the left-right political spectrum - I just don't think or operate that way!
