Bronwyn Bishop to repay $5000, page-53

There are a lot of so called rules that need changing.

Some of these allowances are outrageous. In this case Bishop could have taken a government car or driven herself. These issues aren't left/right, they are across the board.
Of course many will say that "if you pay peanuts you get monkeys" and pollies need packages like CEO's, maybe, maybe not. Some of these pollies would never be CEO material, there is one floating around the med (on study leave?) as we speak that isn't CEO material.

There are other rules that apply to pollies at state level and the judiciary that also don't apply to everyone else. Many won't know that certain highly paid civil servants don't pay the div 293 superannuation contributions surcharge that exists for those who earn over $300k per annum.

When Chris Bowen is getting stuck into those with big super accounts and rallying the comrades we are always left in the dark as to whether civil servants/pollies with defined benefit schemes will have to cough up.

Liberal/Labor/ Green they are all the same when it comes to noses in the trough. Tony Abbott and Joe Hockey have been banging on about a smaller government, well it isn't small enough yet! And if Bishop can waste our money on a $5K helicopter ride then the 2% budget repair levy wasn't really needed.
