I think i prefer the option of topping up every-time it drops back to a support level, however i find this strategy has the effect of increasing my average slightly over time however as a long termer, it means i increase the size of my holdings with my spare cash that i might have otherwise gambled on a less likely candidate for success, then again, i might miss the 100 bagger by playing safe in a stock i trust to ultimately deliver a substantial gain, but then my original investments are small by comparison to many others, and my method allows me to build a large holding over time, on the other side of the coin if it all fails at the end point, it's gonna hurt bad.
