    Hi L8TR,

    Thanks for bringing this point up because it is a good one.

    The ash content actually rates very well with Australian thermal coals, much of which needs to be washed particularly the mines in the Hunter Valley. However a key difference is that during the Exergen CHTD process the coal is first mixed into a slurry form anyway, I think Mantle may be hinting that they could add a simple gravity de-ashing circuit to the slurry feed as this will increase the value of the coal at minimal cost.

    As that is the entire rationale for the tech, to significantly increase value through minimal processing costs. That was the problem with WEC, their feedstock coal was already too expensive to make any profit from the upgrading process. I hope this makes sense?
