The more I consider Weissenbaeck, the more I think his appearance at D&D representing both SMS and TNG may well be much more than just public relations - surely any of the SMS board members could have sufficed for that?? And what do we really stand to gain from attending D&D? Surely we are not expecting to stumble across a Titanium offtake there...
If you consider Weissenbaeck's personal involvement in conjunction with his expertise in 'entrepreneurism' and 'growing, running and re-structuring start ups' (per the first item listed on his linkedin), then perhaps he may just be considering stepping in as Chair. Just SMS' $1.5m in TNG shares would stand to balloon to around say $27m if TNG got to $2... plus future divs.
He might be MD of SMS, but an organisation of that size would pretty well run itself, leaving the role of MD to be involved with strategic and extraordinary matters outside of typical operations.
