In the BRR Kevin mentiones the DSO BID Bedded Iron Deposits in area D being sampled at over 60% Fe and sub 2% Alumina and 2% Silica. Not sure how many of the intersections will have such low impurities however, and he must be quoting figures not in the latest table, as no hole had impurities that low, however likely to average higher impurities than these figures for BID in area D.
He also mentioned that the area of the BID in the report, shown by the banded or hatched areas in D, was 1.3 square Km and 20 to 30 metres deep, which he then commented on as being significant.
Back of envelope calcs estimate that this BID DSO could potentially be 101.4 million tonnes to 152.1 million tonnes, using tonnage multiplier of 3 per cubic metre, 1.3 km^2 and 20-30m deep.
I also think this is significant. One problem is that it is deeper than the CID, but if the CID can be sold, that won't be much of a problem to strip it.
He called the BID Gertite (spelling?) never heard of this. He also mentioned it's LOI is usually higher than other ores.
