Kipp - I only trade a stock’s natural volatility when I see it in sideways ranges, which doesn’t tend to occur during up or down moves. I might have trading parcels for a range like 10-13c and others for pip trading eg 10.5-11c… I often have a couple of traders, occasionally 3-4 parcels on the go, sometimes none at all for months. And I only do this with the very few select stocks I have in my personal trading account which I have decided have deep value and I’m in for the long haul and only trade with money I’m happy to cling onto for dear life if the trade goes pear shaped, which can always happen, just as getting really lucky and buying back at 10c then finding it’s overbought at 17c days later when I was mid-battle on an iPad game (as opposed to super which I have dozens of small LT parcels which I do occasionally sell/buy back on news but mainly leave well alone and only post on HC on the more interesting ones.)
I have two golden rules for the traders: Never trade them on anything to do with the company, only on any natural volatility and never base a new trade on any prior trade. So it matters not to me if I sell a parcel at 17c whether my next Buy is back in a 10c+ range or up in the 20c+ range once the dust has settled, I just won’t be trading any while it’s travelling.
This is how I operate, I don’t recommend it as a method, it just works for me, just so you know
