Target depth is not an exact thing, to accurately interpret the seismic you need to know the velocities (velocity of sound through the stratas), that is a number obtained by a mix of data (velocity picking) and guesses (other similar past wells, and geologist's assumptions), easy to be a few percent out, so when drilling deep allow a few days either way. If you thought it was going to be today, think next monday before you abandon ship. IMHO
