The Aust Gov don't operate fairly when they run things. Election pork barreling, running sham community consultation processes when the purpose is simply to rubber stamp whatever idea they want to push through. They even shut down live sheep and cattle exports that destroyed the livelihoods of farmers. And letting Uber set up in Australia was found to be illegal but government did it anyway because Uber was cashless and they could guarantee gov got its full gst taxes.

even my own industry (hospitality) gov were fraudulent pushing BS skills shortages when their own expert report showed hospitality has never had skills shortages (it is always oversupplied which is the exact opposite of skills shortages)

all those restaurants closing that you read about in the news at the moment are a result of gov flooding the market with cheap foreign labour and cheap foreign business owners who have destroyed the profitability of hospitality. They knew they were doing damage but they didn't care as they wanted to hit migration targets in unionised sectors (rather than the building industry where we really had shortages). Two politicians were even caught running illegal visa scams in hospitality (Craig Thompson and Daryl Maguire)
