Not sure that they need to be shot out of choppers though. One of the problems is the carcasses are left which become food for the wild dogs. There are better ways of managing them.
The high country is a haven for wild dogs, deer, pigs, goats etc and the government doesn't seem to be too interested in doing anything about them. The dogs smash sheep herds everywhere. The farmers are left to fend for themselves on this.
