I very clearly recall Tim Treadgold calling gold dead in the water when it was $270 an ounce and looking good.
He pronounced it to be a commodity and doomed to the pits due to the massive amount of gold held in the vaults.
At the time I immediately discounted his opinion and now find it hard to treat anything he writes with any seriousness,
