Toyota, the world's biggest car manufacturer by no. of cars sold, intends to invest $US13.6b in battery technology over the next decade.
By 2025, it will have about 70 EV battery lines around the world.
Also, by 2030, given its transition to being primarily an EV maker, it expects about 80% of the cars it makes will contain some type of battery technology.
The article also states that Volkswagen & Ford are making similar transitions to EV car making.
