There were stories around about the nickel matte story being a method of stopping the nickel price momentum. Might have been on Stock head yesterday.
The iron ore price dropped recently because a story about China cleaning up steel mills. Short term reaction with iron ore as it is surging again now.
It ends up being about supply and demand and with nickel the demand seems to be coming for clean nickel supply so it will be interesting to see the long term affect and whether this nickel matte is a long term price suppressor or not.
