On the general subject of where (or not) Batavia is headed- more questions are raised than answered by its recent announcent of having completed due diligence prior to making a further investment in West Australian Metals(WME).
But maybe both Batavia's and the latter's shareholders should be asking when is BTV/WME going to tell them about any confirmation from the Namibian government that a two-year renewal of the exclusive exploration licence for the Marenica uranium project- the BTV/WME's "flagship" (in fact only) project- which expired in November- going to be renewed?
Without that, the project- and BTV/WME's shares- will be worthless. If BTV/WME directors- including Hot Copper poster Peter Biddle- know the answer why aren't they sharing this information?
Or maybe its a question of if the licence is renewed and BTV/WME doesn't want to say its maybe not definite? After the WME boardroom shenanigans of last August coordinated by major (nominee) shareholder Vladimir Nikolenko- with whom Biddle has a long association- perhaps the Namibians have added WME to their list of "cowboy" companies- which includes former Nikolenko vehicle Reefton/Magna Mining. Shareholders might also like to know the nature of the reported business deal reportedly concluded by Biddle in Namibia recently. Informed sources there say that he signed a shareholdler agreement with Marenica licence holder Jaco Smith- a pub owner in the nearby town- which gives Smith a 20% stake in a joint venture company for the Marenica project, but effectively control. The previous WME directors ousted by Nikolenko had opposed signing this document. If it has been signed how does this tally with "due diligence"- BTV/WME shareholders may find they still have a project- if a licence renewal is granted- but don't really own it.
