DDR make 2% npat and they plan to convert express data to their model of business. I believe they will be able to and will make 2%npat on that $800mil. Dick is a smart man who understands how to be a profitable distributor. I suspect he purchased the company because he works in the industry and already knows they have inefficiencies that can be improved. He is the sort of person that I believe would value DDR based on what he can make from it not what others can.
How many shares did you end up with in this plough? I wouldn't be too worried about having a lot of shares in a good company at a good price but i don't like the concept of investing my money in something I don't understand. Learnt my lesson with a terrible company named gbg.
