Hi Sam,

Here is some background on marketing investments tabled in the recent quarterly cashflow announcement.

$4m marketing investment includes a portion of trade spend. Trade spend for FY21 expects to increase due to

1. Significant footprint expansion in domestic retailers (i.e. Bovine IMF was ranged nationwide in May 2020) which offers a different value chain compared to other channels
2. Additional promotional activities to stay competitive among our peers (other players are running promotional activities to move their stock)

We will continue investing into our brand to build brand equity and support brand awareness in existing markets. In addition, as we enter into adjacent category (VMS) and new emerging market, we need to invest ahead of curve.

Timing of these investments also plays a part when it comes to cashflow.  

In regard to staff costs of $2m in the last quarter, this includes approximately $1m of deferred Q4 FY20 PAYG (as part of government incentive under COVID) and FY20 Employee Bonus.
