If I'm not mistaken, consolidated shares have the same effective value. So the price goes up, but the quantity you own goes down proportionally so you maintain the same % ownership.
The only advantage is that it allows some finer movement in the price.
Following this company for many years, the end-game is to maintain salaries and bonuses.
Its Christmas time, and leadership are forced to pay top dollar for lobster this time of year, so there will need to be some tin rattling. There are mouths to feed.
