Buda-pest is actually two cities and my favourite spot was the Shechenyi Baths in Pest
Budapest was actually called Aquincum by the Romans because of its fabulous thermal spas which are quire popular throughout the city
Another favourite was the Museum of Natural History - Hungary has a fascinating history which we are unaware of - and most fascinating is the language itself which has turc roots but is also similar to Finnish.
The food is spectacular and just across the road from the Hilton up on the hill in Buda is a brilliant wine museum/cellar showcasing the viticultural heritage of Hungary
Don't forget to visit Szentendre just down the river - a trip into medieval Europe
I was lucky enough to be able to visit Parliament House and it is a spectacular piece of architecture and was one of the bastions of early democracy in Europe.
Lost of places to visit - one week was not enough
Just watch out for the gypsies trying to take the weight off your back pocket
