One 1000 MW power plant could be built with $AUD1.5bn. If it was current technology.
Clean coal supercrit would be about the same, if it was built in China with little or no "interest during construction" since they build them in about 24months. Elsewhere they are about AUD 1.8bn
Best avail solar thermal would cost billions more - for one plant. None of the operating plant world-wide are near 1000MW in size, I am unaware of any on drawing boards at the size.
Largest PROPOSED plant is the newly re-announced Mohave County plant, 340MW, USD 2.1bn - that works out at $8 AUD per MW.
So, $8bn to build one of these. Not 4.
