    It's an interesting concept that the USD going down would do anything else but send the AUD anywhere but up expressed in USD.

    Still, its true as you say that money will move elsewhere looking for a safe haven, and this is unlikely to be Australia. Therefore - while AUD must go UP in USD terms, it could well go DOWN versus the swiss franc, the Euro, or even the yen.

    AUD's dependence on resources is also a big issue - world wide recession and AUD suffers just as it did after Asia crisis.
