When your bread and butter operations are neatly managed, you can afford to invest for the longer term. Try new things. Not everything will work out, but you will have a company whose employees will be enthused to 'better' the organisation as a whole.
They have the real estate, the people, the brand and the systems.
Throw in more competition (Costco et al) and watch this company step up a gear or two moreso. This is the WOW moat. Its wide and ever growing.
