Sorry to harp on..but...when I was a youngster the governments of the day instilled in the populace that if we worked hard part of out taxes would be put aside for our old age pensions.
The catch cry now is that we are demographically overpopulated with pensioners that have a longer existence and are a large drain on the economy.
IF...the governments of the day had actually put those taxes aside like into a fund we probably would not have any problem today...
BUT...they did not...pensions were paid from consolidated revenue...that is from annual revenue... they squandered what they should have preserved ....
SO...its a blame game from governments to you .. it's a CON..they have kicked the can down the road over the years and into your garden , if not your glass window...
