Well they doubled last years budget deficit forecast out to to over $40bn and that was in part due to bringing forward spending that would have effected this years budget.

Also they put off spending so as to manipulate this years budget result.

Should they not be able to present us with a budget surplus at the end of this FY then Labor won't be looking to smart as they have made it all the more difficult for chasing a surplus over the following few years IMO.
