I have expressed many concerns about Julia Gillard's leadership & partially blame Tony Abbott for having inflicted her on us. If she survives as PM it will have been because Abbott presented as an unelectable alternative.

IMO Abbott is a case of have 24/7 mouth will open it to constantly utter 'stop the boats', 'another great big new tax on everything', 'more labor waste'.

Abbott just doesn't seem to realise that we already know he is the dark knight who always shows us the doom & gloom. But we have absolutely no idea as to his vision for Australia & what he will do to get us there.

Some of Abbott's past is known of course:

. Born & educated in the UK's strongly class based system - - as opposed to Australia.

. Belief in the 'divine right to rule' principle that underpins the monacrchy - as opposed to genuinely democratic, republican systems of government.

. Training in the priesthood & commitment therein.

. Support for public funding of religious & other private schools.

. Environmental ignorance he struggles to contain.

. Support for military intervention in aboriginal communities.

. The ongoing performance failures in the health system during his time as Minister.

. Economic illiteracy that contributed to that little black hole called costings of his election promises.

. Lacked the negotiating skills to win over the 3 independents to form government & has since lacked the ability to pry them loose from Labor.

. Support for Howard Govt. policies on boat refugees that bore witness to 353 SievX boat people drowning.

IMO Australia deserves a lot better than what Abbott's Opposition is presenting to us. It's past reasonable time that we saw slogans without vision - a narrative even! Abbott could even start this Thursday by demonstrating a well-designed & well-articulated budgetry plan for the foreseeable future.
