    Boom, A couple of things:

Relenza is only 1 of 2 products in the world that works.

If resistance to tamiflu occurs it is down to 1. Even worries about resistance will mean additional orders from governments.

They have all been caught with their stocks down and will be topping up.

They will be able to sell all they can produce over at least the next 2-3 years and may need to expand production.

A lot of people in Australia will use their tamiflu when they get the seasonal flu this year just in case and find it doesn't work.

LANI is planned for 2011 (from memory) for the Japanese market. If things turn serious this could be speed up. BTA would therefore have 2 of the world's hottest drugs.

The non-Japanese market for flu is now worth big $. If the LANI phase III data is good they will be rushed.

Generics will appear but if the flu turns out to be serious I cannot see India or China exporting them when they have billions of their own people to protect.

Vaccines are the best option, but you need time to develop and test one and produce enough for the entire population. The flu also changes rapidly.
