Sydney - Friday - March 31: (RWE Aust Business News) - The seasonally adjusted estimate for total dwelling units approved rose 2.2 per cent, to 12,213, in February 2006, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said. The seasonally adjusted estimate for private sector houses approved rose 5.2pc, to 8,674, in February. This is the highest level since July 2005. The seasonally adjusted estimate for private sector other dwellings approved rose 2.5pc, to 3,343, in February. The seasonally adjusted estimate of the value of total building approved rose 13.5pc, to $4.883bn, in February. The value of new residential building approved rose 6.2pc, to $2.481bn. The value of alterations and additions rose 12.1pc, to $524.3m. ENDS
