Chizzy, Peoria IL is where the action is. Think Peoria, Illinois. CAT recently announced that they were moving their global HQ to Deerfield (suburb of Chicago) but that's because a few hundred top level execs got tired of living in the corn fields of Peoria.
Caterpillar has been based in the little city of Peoria for about a century and that hasn't really changed. The Caterpillar research center, the proving ground for new equipment, large factories, and over ten thousand employees are still in Peoria and that won't change. Only a few hundred execs are relocating to the Chicago area.
