BTA Holders, I watched this program - it was factual and on-the-money. The only aspect that they downplayed is the fact that H5N1 (Bird Flu) strains are progressively acquiring the required genes for Human to Human transmission in the wild. This is becoming evident in genetic analysis of strains isolated from people dying recently in Egypt, Vietnam etc
Hence the researchers reporting from Rotterdam and the US are only highlighting the continually increasing risk from natural evolution.
This is where Biota's (BTA) products have a major potential role to play in minimising the impact of any future H5N1 pandemic.
This is why the US Government provided a US$235m Barda grant to BIOTA to progress research and mnaufacturing of Inavir in the US.
