@techfacts Lets compare apples with apples. Nest cameras are about $200 and Wyze cameras are around $20. They would be hoping for a Saas monthly fee for monitoring as do Nest. $7 a month per camera. Unless you pay this the cameras are effectively useless as they only show live time and no recordings. I don't own any of the wyze cameras but have bought cheap wifi/wireless cameras before. The charge lasts about 40 mins. And the connectivity is hit and miss. But what can you really expect.
As for cheap wifi lights, you pay for what you get. For 650 lumens you can get these from Lifx. If you want 800 lumens the cost goes up to $29.99. For 1000 lumens the price doubles again. if you want infra red and other sensors then the cost is higher again. Lifx lights have a 2 year warranty. With normal usage they have a life span of over 20 years. GE have been selling a wifi bulb for 5 years and never got any traction. It takes more than a low price to break into the market.
