I'm somewhat taken aback by all this heated debate about a co-payment for doc visits.
I'm in Qld's second city and I have NEVER heard of a bulk-billing doctor. A visit here costs you $70 +and a long consultation I've paid $130 +.
The only ones I know of who are bulk-billed are old people's home clients. That can be a rort: The Doc pokes his head through a door and passes he time of the day pleasantries and that's a home visit. Our non-existant GP Super-Clinic will not bulk-bill either if it ever becomes a reality.
I'm not posting for a whinge by to try and get a handle on how universal bulk-billing is elsewhere. All the whinges I've heard indicate it must be the norm.
