Yes you are right there are quite a few, but if you look closely those declining volumes are usually precipitated by a spike in volume as the smart money sells to the "mums and dads" at the top of the uptrend. They then stand aside (and so volume declines) and the price falls, because without the smart money the "mums and dads" don't have the capital to take the prices higher. If volume increases as price falls well that just means increased panic selling, but, if it spikes on huge volume at the bottom it'll generally mean the slide is stopping as buyers come in and push the volume right up.
