I concur the regulators are simpleton public servants lacking any conviction to cause themselves any hard work.

I just had a look at my company's tax accounts and it seems the ATO have stuffed up my balance showing a $48,334.00 credit.

I know they have stuffed it up as my records are spot on.

I should apply for the refund and invest the money in a term deposit and just say sorry to the tax man if they ever discover the error.

Alas I am too honest to defraud the Australian public. Perhaps I will close the business and just wait for ATO to send me the money.
