A constitutional law expert believes Mark McGowan’s introduction of a “vaccine passport” for interstate travel is likely legally sound — and that other jurisdictions may follow WA’s lead.
From Tuesday, anyone planning to travel from NSW to WA will be required to produce proof they have received at least one jab of a COVID-19 vaccine and also return a negative PCR test in the 72 hours before departure.
Announcing the stringent new measure — which in future will apply to any jurisdiction averaging more than 50 new community cases per day — Mr McGowan said it was a “template for other States” that wanted to “protect themselves from the raging outbreak in NSW”….…
