Key Points: Hazer Group LTD
- disrupting the hydrogen production process with their global and scalable, low cost, low emission solution.
- Ultimately their processing solution forms Hydrogen Gas and synthetic Graphite (carbon) as the bi-product of natural gas processing rather than current methods which produce significant Co2 emissions
- Technical development successfully progressed to enable transitioning into commercial phase with a strong focus on additional partnerships and offtake.
- Hydrogen and Graphite are huge billion dollar markets and HZR can capitalise on both valuable bi-products of production
- Preliminary testing of Hazer Graphite in coin cell Li-ion batteries show equivalent performance to commercial synthetic spherical graphite
- Since Listing in late 2015, HZR has worked with Pan America Hydrogen, Siemens and Mitsubishi Heavy Industry, and signed a binding Co-operation agreement with $4bn Mineral Resources Ltd for the development of a commercial scale synthetic graphite plant.
- Mineral Resources have also taken a 14% stake in HZR via placement)
Coming up:
- Stage 1 pilot plant first graphite expected Q4 2018 CY
- Royalties from Graphite sales (amount/rate yet to be determined)
- Results for FBR External testing – this may determine next point
- FBR/RTR Demonstration plant with new/existing partner? 2019/2020
- Independent FBR Testing results
- Graphite Lubrication Results
- Commercial Scale Graphite Purification Testing Results
- External Feasibility study on demonstration and commercial plant
Overview IMO: Technology is significant and has attracted quite a bit of attention with big names. The company is starting to get to truly crucial stages in proving their technology with Pilot Plants ready for first production in Q4 2018. There are some results coming soon in regards to FBR testing, Graphite lubricant testing and so on. I think the royalty negotiation in regards to graphite production is crucial, and if lucrative should have a significant positive affect on the SP. Is there a bull waiting in the chart?
