I would say that the Abbott Government has made a cautious start since being elected. In 2014 I think we will really start to see how this government.
It started off with a lot of political goodwill from voters following the ALP's period of government. ALP infighting was sickening to see and anyone could have led the Coalition to victory at the last election.
By the end of 2014 the carbon and mining taxes will have been removed and it will be interesting to see what happens to the Coalition expensive PPL scheme. I guess a compromise will be found somewhere along the line.
Even though the current federal government debt level is a high headline figure (and growing), I think with some commonsense and fine tuning this problem can be brought under control.
