Mining in Indonesia is a huge risk. The fact that they have government ministers on the boards of some of these mine comp's displays a huge conflict of interest.
I was a herald shareholder for 4+ yrs, but sold into the takeover. I would confidently like to say that i wouldnt invest in that country again. The approval process for the Dairi project was an absolute farce and disgrace, and probably when we started to get close to that approval the whole thing was taken from under us. A joke really, but i knew the risks. Im still very happy with the situation as if there had been no takeover, HER would have been at a buck max now. And if they did get the forestry approval and started mining, who knows how long it would take before the whole thing could have been 'confiscated' indo style. Actually i think i recieved the best exit possible.
