My understanding is that Altona Energy has a huge coal resource (in the billions of tonnes) to deep for conventional underground mining. The coal you speak of is low rank coal suitable for UCG and will require billions of dollars to develop.
I know the Arckaringa Basin fairly well through Linc Energy.
